WEEK OF 3.1

POST 1

I paid a visit to my sweet Mystica and my amazing daughter Fiona this weekend!😊 …

You may have seen this picture before of me and Mysti. Since I last published it though, my little Greek kitty has moved to the big apple and has been re-homed with Fi.

As the years go on, my life has become filled with more and more travels (which is awesome), but not great for being a cat mom.  We adopted Mystica from Greece and had for only a year and while I had so many mixed feelings about rehoming her - it turned out to be the best thing.

It pulled on my heart strings and was an adjustment, but the two of them are soooooo happy together.  Two peas in a pod. Soul sisters. Bffs...

In my heart, I know all is right in the world with them together👧🐈.  And, now I am kitty grandma.

Have you had this experience... tough decisions and losses resulting in new gains and better situations?

By the way I wanted to let you know that I’ll be making a shift on here, leaning into the sweetness, the messiness, the fullness of each day… and sharing this with you more often.

I’ll be exploring all the tools this platform has to offer and the truth is, I’m excited.

Taking the time to learn reels and everything in between has been challenging, but I can definitively say I can’t wait for you all to see what’s. to. come.

POST 2

Moss is a resilient plant that adapts and thrives in difficult environments.

Yes, mosses do have roots, but they are not true roots like those of most other plants.

Instead, mosses have thread-like structures called rhizoids that anchor them to surfaces, and allow them to absorb water and nutrients from their environment.

Rhizoids are not true roots because they do not have specialized tissues for transporting water and nutrients, as is the case with the roots of other plants.

LESSONS FROM MOSS

1. Be adaptive in challenging situations and find ways to absorb the resources you need

2. Use setbacks and obstacles as opportunities to learn, adapt, and strengthen

3. Anchor, acclimate and grow through experiences to thrive in even the most difficult situations.

4. When you do this, you not only nourish yourself but you purify the air around you🪴

Would love to hear your personal lessons surrounding this topic?

POST 3

New Year's resolutions often stem from a sense of dissatisfaction with ourselves.

I believe that the motivation from which we set our goals is crucial in determining whether we transform ourselves, or continue our unhealthy patterns.

I used to set my goals from a place of hating myself and believing I needed to be better.

Coming from that place just sort of reinforced … well, self-loathing and feelings of inadequacy.

When we set goals from who we want to be - who we believe we can be in our highest vision - rather than who we don’t want to be, it can have much different results.

That said, the struggle, pain, missteps that we endure are totally essential in our growth and transformation.

Failure is necessary on the path to success.

Nothing is a mistake if you learn something.

And finding peace right where we are, with newfound strength in vulnerability… only then can we truly focus on positively moving forward.

You may think it’s too late in the year to focus on your health…

I want to remind you that it's never too late, even if you feel like you've missed the New Year's resolution hype.

Interested to hear if this resonates with you?

The resiliency of wild ferns has always intrigued me.

In their presence, to be surrounded by ancient beings who’ve seen dawnings and extinctions, yet still remain.

If only we could tap into the perspective of a fern.🌱

It may feel like you’ve been blown far away from your purpose, when you’re actually being transported on winds of change and planted deeply in who you’re truly meant to be.

I hope to help you lean into uncomfortable changes and see them for what they really are…

SAD? Symptoms of anxiety and depressive disorder can begin in the Fall and continue on through the Winter months all the way into Spring

And post pandemic data has shown a steady increase of S.A.D. cases since 2020

If you’re wondering what can be done, it’s essential to get outside, build a routine, and check in with ourselves daily

And when symptoms of seasonal depression begin to onset, I take it as a message from the deep signaling that something needs to be changed, adjusted or attended to

If you’re looking to make a change and heal from these symptoms within, let’s chat🦋

Sometimes, the most honest feedback we can receive is from our partner🙏

The first time Turu tested out Neuroptimal, he tried it for a month and noticed a reduction in stress, improved mood (although maybe that came from being around me?😉) and an increase in energy.

You can see the full suite of benefits provided with Neuroptimal on my site linked in bio, and you might even spot this picture there…

POST 3

You may know I love cacao for brain health, but you may not know that a cup of lions’ mane tea can have similar benefits, the downside… it doesn’t have that yummy chocolate taste [slide for a recipe including cacao for chocolate lovers]😉

Lion’s Mane is a a brain-healthy beverage and has been found to improve alertness, performance, memory, and focus.

Lion’s mane mushrooms contain hericenones and erinacines, compounds that have been known to stimulate the growth of brain cells in lab studies.

Studies have also shown a link to a significant boost in cognitive function with lions’ mane supplementation.

How are you starting your day today?👇

POST 4

You may have heard of earthing and the benefits of this (although it may not be your go-to in the Winter).

Because the earth’s surface has a negative charge, it’s’ believed that you can absorb negative ions (which are actually positive😉) through your feet by walking on the ground barefoot. Some people say that walking barefoot can reduce pain, inflammation and regulate the stress response.

Some food for thought as the ground begins to thaw and Spring draws closer… has anyone been brave enough to try earthing this season?

POST 5

Recent fresh, organic finds 🙏

(A favorite is @accordmkt)

Most of us make the connection that food is essential to good (or deteriorating) health, dependent on nutrient intake.

But when thinking in terms of health and weight, we rarely consider the emotional side of eating.

If you’re suffering with symptoms of anxiety, increased stress, while also struggling with lethargy and chronic pain - you may be surprised to understand the connection to what and why you’re eating.

Food marketing campaigns and modern conveniences have played a big role in distorting our relationship with food.

But, through behavioral change techniques and returning to the way of eating that Mother Nature intended, you can reverse the effects of these inflammatory responses.

WEEK OF 3.13

POST 1

If you’re wondering how I got into this profession, here’s a little back story…

I remember feeling depressed as early as 6 years old. By the time I was 15 years old, I fantasized about dying and contemplated taking my own life.

For some people depression comes and goes, lasting hours or days. In fact, it is said that most people will experience an episode of depression at least once in their lives. For myself and many in my family, depression was a way of life, persisting for decades and often a lifetime.

I remember the day my father told me as kindly as he could that ‘all good McTears are depressed.’ This was his awkward but endearing attempt to break it to me gently, make me feel part of the clan and offer some explanation for the turmoil I was experiencing.

He told me that I had inherited the unfortunate gene for depression epidemic in my family- that it was “chemical” and something I would unfortunately have to struggle with for the rest of my life. He knew all about this. He struggled with depression himself.

I felt I had been delivered a death sentence. It seemed even more pointless to stay on this earth condemned by my genetics to a lifetime of emotional suffering.

That moment marked a critical juncture, bringing me to an existential crossroads and a dire choice to either end my life OR devote it to figuring out how I could be happy and thrive in this world.

I began asking questions, ‘‘Why? Why me? Why could others thrive and get along when I was struggling to function?” ’That quest for understanding was one of the initial steppingstones toward my current profession.

Sharing Part 2 in the comments…👇

COMMENT:

The last time I experienced any kind of lingering depression was more than 15 years ago.

If depression makes any kind of appearance in my life now, I know what it is trying to say to me. I know how to respond so that it does not persist. And more than that, I have access to advanced tools that can help when I can’t do it on my own, tools that can optimize my brain functioning so that each day I can more easily live up to my full potential (Neurofeedback + mental health practices).

I did eventually shift my profession, and moved into my current career as a MindSet & Emotional Resiliency Coach and Dynamical Neurofeedback Trainer.

If this struck a chord with you and you have found yourself struggling with symptoms of depression, I have a Free Entrainment Track available for download on my website: a deeply soothing, 30-min brainwave entrainment session to aid with sleep, pain relief and lowering blood pressure. And of course, my inbox is always open to go deeper @amymctear 💌

POST 2

In working with clients, one of the most common and striking conundrums that I face is that I can get people to identify what they want, why they want it and even what they need to do to get it …yet they don’t do it.

In the field of psychology, this is referred to as the neurotic process. “ I know what is best for me, but I’m not doing it…”

I was no stranger to self-sabotage, so this was not lost on me. Understanding this complex and frustrating dynamic, I wanted to figure out what could be done to correct it. In that process, I discovered one of the best biohacks for supporting mental health and transformation that I know of to date (see picture of me running a session with my discovery, Neuroptimal® neurofeedback🦋)

The completely safe, non-invasive, easy to use and highly-effective technology that I learned about in turn, became my very own solution. This technology helps maintain peak wellness and improve your mood, mental acuity, learning capacity, self-esteem, calm and sleep habits.

If I told you that you could use it in your own home, on yourself and your entire household for daily maintenance… would that appeal to you? Asking for research purposes😉

POST 3

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re probably right.”
— Henry Ford

I see it all the time in my clients who’ve been struggling to attain long-sought-after goals. They have a detectable split going on within them, a conflict between:

what they want

and

what they don’t want

So often, it’s the same. thing.

Happens to us all, and it’s amazing how often we’re completely unaware of this internal feud between our conscious and subconscious mind.

Once you understand the mechanics of consciousness however, you can beat the system at it’s own game and mend your life.

If you’re interested in learning more, DM me and I can share the free training I’ve developed on this topic @amymctear 💌

Reminder to self that eating healthy IS delicious.

I often speak to mental barriers that can hinder us from success, and while we may think of this hindrance on the health spectrum less, this goes for food success, too.

This simple salad is full of heart and brain healthy components AND I can honestly say I’m excited to dig in! (Sharing the recipe in my stories🥒)

POST 1

I’ll be honest with you, there’ve been many times I’ve doubted my choice to travel an unknown path and march to the beat of my own drum.

I didn’t heed the advice of well-meaning friends and advisors who warned me to follow a more established route.

And so I traveled, and continue to travel, without a map.

I’ll admit it hasn’t been easy- I’ll admit this too, every once in a while I get tripped up. Stuck on the thought that there’s no manual for being me, that someone else can’t do it for me, that I don’t know what-the-hell-I’m-doing.

By now I’m very familiar with this fearful inner voice. It’s a major contender in the unruly bunch of conditioned voices within my head.

And most importantly, it is not my true voice.

It’s the cornerstone of our cultural myths. It pressures us to play small, not stand out, to find our place in line.

It convinces us we need to live according to someone else’s clock and play outwardly dictated roles, all to eek out dollars, all for a pseudo security.

It bullies us into jobs and lifestyles that do not reflect our individual preferences.

It has convinced us that it’s dangerous to step off the conveyer belt to discover something unusual within us.

It has us under a spell.

But, somewhere in us we know we’re really here to grow into ourselves. And when you feel that nudge, I want you know I can help you find your (true) calling, too.

- Amy

POST 2

And another great food for brain health…

Egg yolks are a good source of choline, associated with reducing inflammation and promoting brain function, such as supporting memory function and correspondence between brain cells.

Eggs are also high in tryptophan, an amino acid that’s a building block of serotonin, playing a role in regulating the digestive process, blood flow and breathing.

This week’s eggs are from @LOCAL FARM HIGHLIGHT HERE OR FARMER’S MARKET

How are you starting your day today?👇

You might be surprised to hear that feeling out of control around certain food items is NOT a natural human experience, contrary to what we’re so often led to believe🤯

One of the key components of WILDFIT surprisingly has nothing to do with food - it’s about your mind.

In addition to key nutritional information, WILDFIT teaches you how to eliminate the need for willpower. Instead of asking you to fight food cravings, WILDFIT emphasizes modern mindset and behavioral change techniques that will ultimately eliminate your cravings altogether.

If you’re looking to master your thoughts about food and be in control of every single food choice you make, May’s challenge might be an ideal fit for you - let’s chat @amymctear 🦋

POST 4

Going a little off-script in my feed to share Aliza’s raw and powerful testimonial🙏 Aliza struggled with deep-held beliefs that affected both her physical and mental state.

After the WILDFIT 90-day group program, Aliza was able to shed the excess body weight she had held onto for years, and transform the belief system that authored her life prior.

Thankful for Aliza and the next group I get to share this life-changing program with in just 49 days🦋

POST 5

Negative thoughts and experiences are highly charged. They cause our bodies to secrete cortisol, the stress hormone, which gives them high priority in the hippocampus, the part of our emotional brain that stores memory.

This is why we remember negative experiences over positive, and this sabotages our success.

Your unconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between an imagined event (a memory, thought or feeling), and an actual live occurrence. And with this plain awareness, we can use this to our advantage(!)

No matter how, when or what happened to you, you can change the course of your life by recasting the voices in your head.

If you’re ready to steady yourself from the inside, my inbox is open @amymctear 💌

Some of my favorite snacks for brain health. Having a go-to pick-me-up throughout the day is key in staying focused and sharp.

What’s your favorite snack on the list? I’ll share mine in the comments😉

*Note to Amy and thought for comment…

I know many of you already know I ❤️ cacao, so I’ll go with my second favorite… pumpkin seeds!

POST 4

It’s possible you’ve been creeping toward the finish line for some time now.

What’s really blocking this next evolution for you?

If you want something but are struggling to achieve it, I can almost guarantee that there is something that you believe you will lose by attaining it.

So…what’s at risk? I encourage you to identify the dissenting voice and enthusiastically offer it the mic. Then, sit down with eyes and ears wide open because you stand to receive priceless wisdom.

Would love to hear if you connect with this right now?

P.S. This was me last summer with my feet firmly on the warm ground- can’t wait to do this again.

POST 5

This shot of me by @tismanphoto is one of my favorites, and it marked a personal turning point for me…

It was the beginning of myself as the happiest, most content and emotionally balanced person I’ve ever been.

This was not always the case…

I hid shame, pain and self-loathing. I shut my heart and buried my voice. I worked hard to mask the unlovable parts and create a perfect shell. I tried not to offend or draw the dislike of anyone…

All the while, however, an inner voice urged me to free myself from any and all mental and emotional prisons, to give more, to touch more of this life, taste it fully and express myself to it and through it.

When I questioned my self-image and my beliefs about the world and discovered strength in vulnerability. Little by little, I found the courage to let out a fuller self.

This is the metaphysical framework I offer my clients.

Would love to hear if you have experienced or are ready* to experience change like this?

POST 6 (BONUS REEL)

Friends, this is WHY I do what I do. Going through testimonials from a recent @getwildfit 90 day program brought up some raw emotions🙏

This truly special program offers methodology based on decades of nutritional anthropology, evolutionary and functional medicine - and I KNOW it works. It helped me finally understand the ideal human diet (and I thought I was much more knowledgeable than I was).

Every animal on Earth has its own diet; a particular way of eating that makes it possible for that animal to function at its absolute best.  The same is true for human beings and the closer we adhere to the evolved human diet, the healthier we are... and this is what I have experienced firsthand living according to WILDFIT principles.

Would love to have you join in the next lifechanging challenge, starting on May 6th- sign up in bio @amymctear 🦋
